Usher & Shakira To Replace Cee Lo & Christina Aguilera On ‘The Voice’

This could be interesting!

NBC’s hit reality show has announced that it will bring in Usher & Shakira as coaches to replace Cee Lo Green & Christina Aguilera when the reality series returns next spring for its fourth cycle, E! News

“Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, & we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina & Cee Lo,” chairman of NBC Entertainment Robert Greenblatt said in a statement obtained by E! News. “The participants on our show benefit from our coaches’ expertise & their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return.”

Basically, Aguilera & Green both have other engagements they need to fulfill, so Usher & Shakira will step in, but once it’s time for season five, viewers will see Xtina & Cee Lo back on the small screen.

I’ll definitely be tuning in next season. Will you?

Christina Aguilera Addresses Her Weight Gain: ‘I Love My Body’

Over the years, several people have commented that Christina Aguilera has the singing voice of a ‘big black woman’ (think Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, etc) trapped inside of her skinny body. However, now that she has gained more than a noticeable amount of weight over the years, it seems that at least one of those attributes suits her — & she’s perfectly fine with that, criticism withstanding.

The ‘Voice’ judge recently addressed her weight gain with confidence & indifference, stating:

“I’ve been in this for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too prefect, too thin, too curvy, too voluptuous, this, that. I’ve been on all sides of the spectrum.. [Every] female in this business at one time or another has had criticism… I’m very confident in my body. I think my video works over the years have spoken to that… I’ve been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin…As long as I’m happy in my own skin, that’s all I need, that’s all the confirmation I need. I’m happy where I am, I have a boyfriend that loves my body, I love my body, my son is healthy and happy. That’s all that matters.”

I love it.

Music Video: Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera – “Moves Like Jagger”

Take two of my favorite musical acts & add a catchy hook. Now you’ve got a hit single.

“Moves Like  Jagger” is the product of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine & Christina Aguilera’s adoration for rock legend, Mick Jagger (of The Rolling Stones). The two “Voice” judges have teamed up to make one of my favorite singles this year with an equally unique video.

Get into it!

What are your thoughts on the “Moves Like Jagger” music video?

brixTunes: Christina Aguilera & Cee-Lo – Nasty

I think Cee-Lo Green & Christina Aguilera may have a hit on their hands.

Though their newly released collaborative single, “Nasty”, was originally featured on the Burlesque soundtrack, the two ‘Voice’ judges have decided to leak the song to the masses.

Of the single (which he produced & provides backing vocals), Cee Lo says: “We did a song together about a few years ago…I’ve been seeing people tweet about it lately, so I think they’re going to release it.”

I think releasing this as a single would be a great move. I think following Christina’s much-needed positive publicity boost from ‘The Voice’, new music would be the right choice. This reminds of a “Dirrty” 2.0, a song which I used to love.

Thoughts on “Nasty”?
