How big of an honor must it be to have one of the biggest artists on the planet cover your hit single? Yes, this is in addition to nearly everyone on the planet already covering Adele’s “Rolling in The Deep”, but nonetheless, if Celine Dion wanted to sing my song? I would be more than honored.

After watching the PS22 chorus cover Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep”, I immediately fell in love with the Staten Island-based elementary students. Needless to say, I’ve been tuning in to their Youtube channel since.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s passing the chorus decided to cover her tribute song by Nicki Minaj — the appropriately titled “Marilyn Monroe”. To make their dedication memorable, the chorus invited it’s former star soloist Denise (you may remember her from Target’s “Rolling In The Deep” commercial HERE) to help them out with the hook.

Following the mega-success of her hit album, 21, Adele has won the hearts of fans & fellow artists alike. So it came as no surprise, to me, that after a rousing rendition of “Rolling In The Deep”, she received a standing ovation that lasted for quite some time.
During tonight’s Grammy Awards, I quickly became obsessed with the recurring Target commercial in which little kids sing Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” on a bus. But I didn’t know who they were, nor where they came from.
Thanks to a loyal reader, I discovered that the lead singer’s name is Denise, from the well-known PS22 choir, a group of NY-native children that have become Youtube superstars in recent years due to their massive talent & humble beginnings. The others are all from different parts of the Tri-State area.
I found the original, awe-inspiring on video Youtube tonight & immediately fell in love with the lead singer’s amazing voice.
