“The Help” was definitely one of my favorite movies of 2011, if not of all time. But who knew Katy Perry was supposed to be among the film’s cast?
The singer recently revealed in an interview with THR she indeed almost appeared in the award-winning movie:
“There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help,” Perry said in a new interview with Teen Vogue. “Just a small part, I wasn’t going to be Emma Stone or anything, but I couldn’t because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record.”
“I was upset about that,” she continued. “I knew it was going to be an important film. Not that I need to do drama first, but I do want to do something that makes a strong impression.”
Though I’m a Katy Perry fan, I think her star power may have taken away from the central theme of the movie, regardless of whether it was a small role or not.
Christian Louboutin seems to be the shoe designer of choice for celebrities these days. On that accord, his “Sex” pumps seem to be gaining speed among those that are comfortable taking risks with their style.
Stars such as Katy Perry, Ashanti, Selita Ebanks, Kate Upton — even “Real Housewives of Atlanta” socialite Marlo Hampton — have all been spotted rocking the black or nude versions of the $1,400 Christian Louboutin heels with the word “sex” emblazoned on the toes.
I’m all for being sexy, but I’m not sure I would drop $1,400 on a pair of heels that some may perceive as tacky. But, hey, if I had that kind of money to blow, perhaps I would?
Do you give Christian Louboutin “Sex” heels a yay or a nay? Who do you think wore them best?
Katy Perry is no stranger to speaking her mind, but with tact. However, in a recent interview, the singer may have taken things a bit far.
While discussing her upcoming duet with her BFF Rihanna, Katy referenced a great duet & one that was a bit underwhelming, stating that she wanted her collaboration with Riri to be great.
Specifically, Perry said she knows just what she doesn’t want the song to sound like. “I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves,'” she said of a classic female empowerment tune from 1985. “Not ‘Beautiful Liar.'”
“Beautiful Liar” would be Beyonce’s smash 2007 collaboration with Shakira, which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
She continued: “How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”
Do you think Katy Perry intended to make a subtle dig at Beyonce & Shakira?
