The hour-long season premiere of “The Game” debuted last night to mixed reviews:

Thankfully, the fifth season kicked off exactly where it left off, with the reveal of Melanie’s abortion, Malik’s troubled girlfriend, Jason’s struggle with race relations & Tasha’s constant doubts about her son’s well-being. Also introduced to the show was Brandy, as a bartender named Chardonnay.
